Everything from overall production and sound & lighting to venue selection and sensational artists, Bangkok really knows how to throw some epic music festivals.  

If you are planning to travel to Bangkok or are already here, make sure you time it right to catch these awe-inspiring, energy-packed music events, especially if you are into EDM.

We talked to our beautiful PIMP Cat models and here are the 8 best music festivals in Bangkok according to them.

Get ready to rave!

808 Festival

In 2015, 808 festival made its first mark on the EDM scene and since then has been organizing massive productions in a bid to be the leading music festival in Thailand.

While mostly held in Bangkok, 808 Festival has also made its way to Pattaya for a change of scene.

Over the years it has hosted some of the biggest names in the industry.

Headliners included Armin Van Burren, Above & Beyond, Skrillex, Calvin Harris, and Rave Culture.

Other popular DJs and supporting artists were Ben Nicky, Carnage, Zedd, Blasterjaxx, and Vini Vici.

This year in December 2022, 808 Festival will be back with a first-ever 3-day extravaganza with a bigger and better production.

This year will mark its 9t installment since its inception.

Although details and lineup aren’t announced yet, it is surely going to be the biggest EDM festival of the year in Bangkok.

Kolour In The Park

Kolour in the Park is a music festival like no other.

It started out as a small-scale event for techno lovers but over the years has become a big name in the industry holding multi-genre music across different stages.

Unlike most music festivals in Thailand, they have house, techno, indie, R&B, funk, disco, and other underground music.

Anything but the typical mainstream EDM you will hear at other events.

It’s more than music too.

To be at this festival, you get to have an immersive experience with delectable food, interactive art, lifestyle activities, and more.

Kolour in the Park has always been a Bangkok music festival but they have also held events in Pattaya while the past few installments have been organized in Phuket.

Its last big event in Bangkok was held in 2020 with incredible artists such as Artbat, Black Coffee, ATMA, Miss Foster, and Oddisee.

One of the most unique sounds at 2020 KITP was Tontrakul, a Thai instrumental band who combine Isan folk with electronic music.

They are seriously looking to shake the EDM scene in Thailand and for those looking for something different, this is the event you must attend.

Mystic Valley

This festival is not actually in Bangkok, but near Bangkok. Mystic Valley is just 3 hours from Bangkok and is quite literally the largest music festival in Thailand.

Spanning across a massive 160,000 sqm of green space amongst mountains and valleys in Khao Yai, is Mystic Valley Festival.

It’s not just big in venue space.

Mystic Valley is breaking all boundaries with over 10 stages of diverse music genres, food markets, adventure activities, arts, culture, pool parties and a lot more.

Going to this festival isn’t just about going for music but more like a mini adventure and travel trip that lasts for 3 days.

In 2020, they had about 150 local artists and over 7,000 festival-goers.

That might not seem like much but that is what makes this festival so great. It’s not mainstream and a truly unique immersive experience.

That is why, while yes, the lineup is important but not that important at Mystic Valley.

People come for the overall vibes, memories and making new friendships.

The music is just the glue that puts it all together and you do get a variety, everything from EDM to Hip Hop and everything in between.

2022 Mystic Valley is set to be a massive spectacle and we can’t wait for all the details to come out.

S2O Songkran Festival

S2O is a special music festival that is held during Songkran and it is the wettest party you can be at.

If you’ve never been to one, you are definitely missing out.

In the past, S2O has brought artists like Afrojack, Nicky Romero, R3hab, Deadmau5, Steve Aoki, Fatboy Slim, Tiesto, and so many more.

Apart from the music, the big draw of S2O are the giant water cannons that spray water into the crowd to keep you wet and fresh in the hot and humid weather of Bangkok.

It is incredibly energetic and spirited.

This event has become so famous that it actually made its way across other countries in Asia as well such as Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and even China, making it a world-class standard music festival.

Together Festival

Since 2012, Together Festival has been dropping stellar productions and featuring fantastic artists, making it one of the best music festivals to hit Bangkok.

Each year it attracts thousands of locals, expats and tourists to have an unparalleled music experience that is more than just EDM.

In 2012, it showcased the likes of LMFAO, Lil Jon, Afrojack, Tata Young and popular Thai artist Thaitanium.

In 2013, they took it up a notch and invited Snoop Dogg!

Over the years, Together Festival geared more towards EDM and rave with headliners such as Armin Van Burren, Alex Ingrosso, Martin Garrix, Marshmello, and Hardwell with a long list of supporting international and local artists.

The vibes at Together Festival are phenomenal with remarkable lights, sounds, visuals and of course the music.

After 2 years of hiatus because of COVID, they are back in 2022 for a 2-day event with Dharma World and Rave Culture headlining.

The lineup also includes KSHMR, Blasterjaxx, Lost Stories, Axmo, Will Sparks and many more.

Waterzonic

Waterzonic is another epic Thai music festival that is held during Songkran and considered an Ultimate experience of a water festival.

Started in 2015, it has brought artists from all over the globe transcending different EDM genres with headliners such as Yellow Claw, Nicky Romero, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Afrojack, Dash Berlin, R3hab, and Fedde Le Grand.

There has also been a long lineup with other popular and growing artists. Some names include Frontliner, Wildstylez, KSHMR, Bear Grillz, and so many more.

After 2019, Waterzonic stopped having events but did do quite a few online live parties.

But great news!

Waterzonic is being resurrected in October 2022 with a 2-day spectacle that is sure to be anything short of awesome.

While it is not during the Songkran festival period, it seems that the event will still have water being splashed around.

So, if you love being wet while partying, save the date and don’t miss out on this one.

OMG Oh My Ghost

In 2018 and 2019, Bangkok had its largest music festival during Halloween.

This year, they are back, bigger and better with Headliner giant Marshmello.

In the past the festival hosted EDM artists such as Jauz, Sikdope, Make You Freak, R3hab, Ghastly, and Miss K8.

Although the OMG Oh My Ghost 2022 isn’t even close to Halloween Day, it is still going to be the freakiest music festival of the year.

Details are yet to come out but we expect some ghoulish and creepy setups with the stage design and overall look of the venue.

Neon Countdown

What can be a better reason to be at a music festival than the New Year!?

That’s exactly what the Neon Countdown is for.

The concept started in Malaysia and then Beijing.

By 2019, it launched in Bangkok. Now finally, after 2 years of waiting, it is finally back again with a colossal 3-day event.

Full of energy, intense lights, sounds, and fireworks, it is going to be an ultimate New Year celebration for those in Bangkok.

While lineup and details are not announced yet, 2019 headlined Armin Van Burren and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike who were supported by Vini Vici, Valentino Khan, QUINTINO, Ben Nicky, and many more.
